Off the back of his recently released album, Waiting on the Comedown, Rounak Maiti returns to India from LA and hits the road with his band on a five-city tour of India.

About Rounak Maiti:
Born in Cleveland, brought up in India and based in Los Angeles, Rounak Maiti's intensely personal music encapsulates the strange but homely intersection of American and Indian cultures that raised him. An inimitable artist and storyteller, Rounak creates timeless music.

About Karshni:
A singer-songwriter based in Mumbai, Karshni is all of 18-years but sings with the maturity of any of your favorite crooners. Originally from Pune, but currently based here, in Mumbai. She’s in her First Year of Mass Media, at Sophia College, and currently road-testing her material the old-fashioned way, by cleaning up the competition at college festivals. An extremely bright future ahead of her with a unique style of songwriting, she is currently working on her songs before she hits the studio next year to put down her first few singles.

Independent art, with all its disciplines, while being on the margins, has always been a resilient and fertile ground for dialogue and debate, innovation and ideological courage, and provides an alternate voice in a mainstream-dominated landscape. It has also often provided inspiration to the mainstream art industry.
G5A’s mission has always been to support and encourage independent art practice. The Indie Music scene today is extremely vibrant and innovative and so we’re very excited to be dedicating one day every month that will feature a strong line-up of acts both Indian and international.
