The Character Artist Of Outstanding Merits, Himayat Ali Has Already Given Brilliant Performance In Many Popular TV Serials And Bollywood Blockbusters. Apart Prom Playing And Portraying 'Mathhu' In Anil Sharma's Veer, He Is Performing The Character of Navin Tripathi In Yash Raj's TV Serial ‘Powder’, being shown On Sony TV Channel, Every Sunday at 9 pm.The character artists are very important part of the cast of the movies. They enhance the position of the leading artists and the impact of the story. Yet they get less publicity, less price and less position. At the same time there are some very ‘poserful’ character artists, who have managed to uphold their position, prestige and popularity to the level of Stars. The well known artists like Paresh Rawal, Anupam kher, Om Puri, Raza Murad, Boman Irani, R. Mahadevan and K.K. Menon have made their presence and participation felt in a big way. Himayat Ali, who excels in negative roles, can also be included in the list of dependable and dynamic character artists. In Anil Sharma’s new film VEER he is playing the role of ‘Mithhu’, the member of Mithun Chakraborthy’s Pindhari Group. It is a sacrificing role and he saves the lives of his Group by facing the Big Gun in the suicidal effort. He was showered with applauds and congratulations from his friends and co-stars, after watching the First Copy of the film, recently.
Born and brought up ‘n’ educated in Mumbai, Himayat Ali, is the graducate of Mumbai University. After completing his education, he started his career as an Interior Decorator. His concern is still going strong under the banner of Oqaab...Interior Decorator.Being fond of movies and music, Himayat Ali, one fine day suddenly made up his mind to plunge himself in TV Serial serials and films, as his performance on stage was highly appreciated by the press and the public. Despite his business activities, he had been the member of Yaatri Group. His plays like Dekh Kabira Roya, Maiat, Fankaar need special mention. These plays gave him full confidence and he started to try his luck as an Actor in TV serials and movies.
He started film career as an actor with TV serials. His debut making serial was ‘Zee Horror Show’. He participated in hundreds of its episodes. This was followed by Campus, Darar for ZEE-TV, Mezaan Ujala for DD-National, Zara Si Zindagi for ARY Gold, Challenge for Sony, and Mumbai High Court for NDTV Imagine to name the few. Aamir Khan starrer Sarfrosh was his first film. Then he worked in many star studed films. He has played important role is Ajay Devgan starrer Takshak, Sunny Deol and Irfan starrer Right Or Wrong, Sunny starrer The Man, Sunny and Bobby Deol starrer Apne and his latest is Salman Khan Starrer VEER.
Himayat Ali is very grateful to the people who have helped him during his struggle. Apart from his family members, he is greatly oblidged to Mujeeb Khan and Aslam Shaikh, who helped him a lot, during his theatre days. As for as TV serials and movies are concerned, he will always remain under the obligation of kindhearted persons like Aamir Khan, Atul Sabharwal of Yashraj Films, Anil Sharma, Vindu Dara Singh, Neeraj Pathak, Arun Frank and late Sanjeev Bhattacharya.

Age wise we can call him ‘Naughty at Forty’, otherwise he is a successful business man, trust worthy friend, dependable character artist and above all most well behaved gentleman of admirable human qualities. His hobbies include horse riding, Judo Karate and swimming,
Though he is remarkable in playing Negative roles, yet he is open to accept any type of character role. He is a versatile artists after all.
