Uday Prakash : There have been two striking popular and leading poles in TV journalism spirited these days. One in English and the other in Hindi. I’m always skeptical about Hindi as it’s always characterized by the people who represent it, in politics, culture and media. My friends here on Facebook know about my views through my posts time and again. One of the poles, in English was Times Now, anchored by Arnab Goswami and the other, in Hindi is NDTV, with its anchor Ravish Kumar.

The First with commanding monologues, superiority, self-righteousness, provided with Y security by the government, brilliant, eloquent, deafening and the other, always appearing inconsequential, fragile, meek and lesser.
These two belonged to the same, as Baba Saheb Ambedkar had held, Hindu priestly caste, the Brahmins, which will never allow a social change to happen. At the maximum it can act as an agent of 'political change.'
Here, I’m not going to write a big analytical piece about the contrary roles these two anchors have been playing since last few stormy months this year but friends look at state of affairs of these two as of now.
Arnab Goswami has been made to resign from Times Now and is now trying to start a news industry on his own, after serving ten years in TOI. He is out to test his fortune in commercially competitive media business to make more money and more power. He claims to disrupt existing media news industry with his teammates and to create a private 'independent' channel.
And Ravish Kumar, who just succeeded saving his career and his employer’s profession for his journalistic conscience from getting ‘banned’ for a day by the government, is seen tonight in his most sought-after and hugely watched ‘Prime Time’ talking to desperate, crying mother of Najeeb, a JNU student, missing for the last 24 days.
Ravish represents the sanity, rationale of India’s plural, liberal, secular and democratic conscience.
Arnab Goswami might prosper becoming more moneyed and more powerful with more securities for his cover.
Geometrical ‘edge line’ between language and caste here appear blurred to me and think it’s individual who is a subject to be certified.
Friends, watch tonight’s Prime Time and see how calm and humane Ravish executes his responsibility as a noncombatant journalist.
Ravish stands with the known tradition of patriotic and sane journalism of India and Arnab Goswami ....an aberration...an anomaly.
One has demeaned and defamed English. The other, risking his livelihood rescued almost the decomposed and treacherous casteist image of Hindi.
(Let’s celebrate the victory of Freedom of Expression against Censor-shipping and Banning politics, even if it's a last one.)
Mazhar Kamran : Very well said. This is true in a big way across the entire culture in the country.
Prakash Badal : Rightly said. Ravish kumar and Arnav are true journalists . Thay proved the definition of journalism in their own way. And they win.
